Wedding Storybook: Your wedding day is one of the most special and memorable days of your life. Capturing the moments of that day through photography is crucial to relive those cherished memories. However, the way in which you present those photographs can significantly impact how you and others experience them. This is where wedding storybooks come in – they have revolutionised the way in which you can access and share your wedding day in a social and personally engaging way.
While digital copies of photographs may be more convenient, there are some significant benefits to having a printed wedding storybook. One of the most apparent benefits is the physical presence of a book that you can hold, flip through, and feel. Unlike digital copies that can be lost in a sea of files, wedding storybooks stand out as a tangible objects that can evoke a sense of nostalgia and wonder every time you revisit them.
Moreover, wedding storybooks allow you to curate your wedding day’s story and flow, making it a more personalized experience. With a printed album, you can arrange your photos in an order that makes sense to you, and you can add meaningful captions to accompany each picture. This creates a narrative that brings back the emotions and memories of your wedding day, making it easier to relive those moments.
Another critical aspect of printed wedding storybooks is their longevity. Digital photos can quickly become outdated as technology advances, making them inaccessible as time goes on. A printed album, on the other hand, is a timeless keepsake that can be passed down from generation to generation, becoming an essential family heirloom that tells your family’s story.
While digital copies of photographs are more convenient, they lack the physical and emotional impact of a printed wedding storybook. Having a printed album allows you to create a personalised narrative that can be passed down for generations to come. Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and investing in a high-quality wedding storybook is an investment in reliving those memories for years to come.

Fusion Wedding Photography features in Picture of the Day. A regular feature on the Asian Wedding Journal, a daily image, reflecting why i enjoy weddings so much. My remit for Asian Wedding photography its not just to focus on the Bride and Groom. I look for what the bride and groom are don’t get to see on their big day. In essence I become their eyes, their witness the re-teller of their wedding day story.
Once I have captured what I feel tells enough of the story of the main event. I wander off looking for quirky moments that will add depth to their wedding memories. Things that will make them smile, laugh and sometimes cry, but always to ensure they appreciate their wedding.
This image is an iconic fun shot. The Groom and groomsmen were waiting out side the the Criterion restaurant and looking bored. SO i lined them up and said jump. and they did. Took three or three attempt’s but we got there. I just love the bemused look in the bystanders face.
This was taken in the morning of a Tamil / English wedding. This is what makes Fusion Wedding Photography fun. The different cultures coming together and sharing huge moments.

Leena and Hamir’s Asian wedding journey with me started around 6 months before the wedding with an engagement shoot in the heart of London. Fast forward one Engagement shoot, three planning sessions later we are at The Hilton Syon Park.
An early start, and lots of moments to capture, the morning atmosphere was relaxed. Full of joy and anticipation of the day ahead, just as Leena & Hamir had discussed. The Hindu ceremony was lively and full of charm. The Priest while reading in Sanskrit also translated the ceremony in English, so everyone could understand.
The Hilton Syon Park, is nestled in the grounds of Syon House just slight west of Chiswick. Syon House lends it self well as a eye catching backdrop for for some emotive portraits. Both on site and off site, and if you time it properly you may be able to get on the sandy beach. The evening reception was electric and contrasted the traditional ceremony of the morning, with a Disney style theme, and the Engagement shoot was shown as a slide show just before they made their entrance into the reception.

A lovely late summer wedding. The summer sun was out. The heat was on. The Walled gardens wildflowers set the scene for a lovely layed back wedding. A cross between a boho chic wedding and beach wedding was the feel couple were aiming for. The short ceremony followed by a light drinks reception with plenty of Pimms and sandals to go around.
The formal group shots were a breeze, but the busy bees were a little to keen on the Pimms. The newly wedds wanted a few wedding portriats, just enough to provide a highlight to the wedding story book. But they really wanted to get back to the guests and have a good old time, and wanted me to capture the essence of the wedding.

The bright sunny day brings a positive start to the day. But provides us, photographers with challenge, a technical one. While we look forward to sunny days, we do hope for a little cloud cover. Why? you will wonder, well the bright light of summers sun is often to harsh, we look for warmer softer tones to make you look your best.
The Barrat arrives with 200 guests dancing to the beat of the Dohl drums. Enjoyed and light breakfast then in to the gardens for a open air ceremony. Hindu Weddings are long and need to be as the Ceremony has many facets to it, each with its on tradition and meaning. After the gifts had been exchanged and the Sindoor and Manjal Sutra had been placed, they were married. After the meet and greet, and while the guests enjoy their starters we whisk the couple away for some portraits.

How to book a photographer.
So how to book a photographer for your Asian Wedding? As a photographer, this is unbiased and objective advice from a me? I have tried to relate the answers to the questions I get asked, and also how I manage my client’s expectations.
There are literately 1000s upon 1000s of potential people who want to take your photograph. Just type wedding photographer in Google (64 million results) and see for yourself. So how do you cut through the chaff and find the gem that will make you happy?
Which photographer is right for you?
As a guestamate based on membership of some photographic organisations, there are around 8,000 potential photographers for you to hire. One thing to bear in mind is that the wedding photography sector is one that has been faced with a lot of challenges, the biggest one being that there has been a surge of hobbyist photographers who shoot weddings. Some are good, and some to dire to even think about it.
Identifying a good photographer is difficult, so where does one start, 70% of my clients come from recommendations. So start there, talk to work colleagues, friends see what kind of experience they had with their wedding photographer.
If none of your friends have got married recently do a web search, but be wise in your search terms, typing wedding photographers in Google will throw up over 62 million items. Be more precise “Asian wedding photographer London” or even name your venue, this way the potential photographic suitor will have worked there too “Asian wedding photographer Hedsor House”.
Have a good look at the photos, search around the galleries, have a look at their blog. Here’s the cool part, all photographers, myself included will dazzle you with the pick of the crop, the bride and groom shots. But does the photo gallery have more from the day? Are there group shots, reportage, and candid.
When you have shortlisted your photographers, go and see them, and make sure you have a look at a complete wedding, and not just the best shots, the pictures you want to see. If he /she can’t show you a full wedding WALK AWAY. This goes for Wedding videographers too, its all to easy to see a highlight video but what will the other 40 Mins be like.
Key Questions to ask your Asian Wedding Photographer:
Do you have any formal training as a photographer?
Do you have any qualifications as a photographer?
Are you a qualified member of a professional organisation?
(This is a tricky one as there are a lot of organisations out there, and some you organisations all you need to-do to be a member is pay a fee. If they are a qualified member then this has merit, being a member of a particular organisation does not make them a professional photographer.)
Are you full-time photographer? (this will affect how much you pay them)
Can you show me a full wedding album?
Do you have Public Liability and professional indemnity insurance?
Do you spend time on Continuing Professional Development?
How many weddings have you covered?
What is your style of photography (this will affect your ultimate choice if their style is not what you’re looking for, this will create issues)
The rule of thumb is if they can answer yes to the first 7 questions then they should be in the top of your shortlist, the other factors then become subjective choices.
How much does it cost for a Wedding Photographer?
That totally depends on your viewpoint of the value you place on your wedding memories. It’s hard to say what an average price should be, as a business I know what my costs are to run the business, and that is taken into account when we price each wedding. But consider what else you are spending on then make an informed judgement. For example, if you’re spending £300 on a wedding car to take you to the venue from home, a journey which is 45 mins, then can you justify paying a professional full-time photographer to cover your entire wedding day for £300 and then provide you with an album?
Ultimately the final choice of photographer is dependant on a lot of factors, ask the right question, look at the right work and see if you get on with them personally, if you don’t then don’t book him or her even if they are cheap.

Wedding Photography & Asian Wedding Fair Tours
Each month, I hit the road for a few days, to meet couples and brides to be with Asian Wedding Photography Consultation Tour. For the most part, I get to help clients with their wedding photography planning. And, of course to showcase the shiny new products we have.
There are two types of events that I attend. First, its the big glitzy shows like the www.asianweddingexperience.com Wedding Showcase, Asiana Wedding Show, The National Asian Wedding Show and the AWD live events. I go to these events to meet couples across the country who have heard of my work but can’t get to me, so I go to them.
The second type of events are run by myself and are a little more intimate and by pre-appointment only. These I enjoy a lot, I cant find out more about the couples, what they are expecting from me and what I can expect from them. These last for around 30 mins and are very handy for the wedding day.
