What happens when you combine a Pakistani Muslim Wedding with Irish Culture?  You get a Craic of an Asian Wedding. The team and I travelled across the waters to photograph a wedding at the Asian Wedding At McWillam Park Hotel Ireland, Asian Wedding Ireland in the rural setting of Claire Morris in Co Mayo.

We arrived late on the friday evening, picked up from the airport and taken to meet the families. by 1am we had met most of them, from the younger newborns to the elders of the family  who had been flown in from Pakistan. We truly felt part of the family.

The wedding started like most do the traditional barrat entrance, dhol players, music and dancing lots of dancing.  After the ceremony, the wedding took on a different personality.  It suddenly became an Irish Wedding – more music and loads more dancing, everything from Bhangra, Bollywood and Break dancing.

From the moment the team and I flew in the night before, we were immersed in the local culture from the get-go until we departed two days later. A bit blurry-eyed but with fond memories of the Craic At McWillam Park Hotel Ireland. An amazing hotel, and the party never stopped.  Looking forward to the next Asian Wedding Ireland

Muslim Wedding BirminghamThe pace of the day started out a nice steady pace for this Pakistani Wedding, the family were pottering about the house getting ready. The odd occasional mention from dad that car will be here soon.  The grooms sister shouts out “has anyone seen my heels” and mum is looking for the confetti.  Then were off, the wedding car speeds off and I follow. What ensures is a cool but emotional Pakistani Wedding.  at the

Greeted by almost all of guests outside the Badshah Palace in perry barr. The brides sisters stopped the Barrat from getting in, demanding almost £2000 for the chance to step inside.  After some hard negotiations – they settled on £10 each for the cousins, and some jewelry for the older siblings.

The grooms family escorted him to the stage, for the formal pictures and to get ready for the Nikkah.  His bride to be was sitting upstairs, covered in a red veil to ensure her privacy among  the hustle  bustle of the insisting guests, which is the norm at a Pakistani Wedding.

Post Nikkah, the wedding begins, the grand entrance down two flights of stairs and the walk to the stage.  Both eyes look up and for the first time in days get to see each other. A smile washes over the grooms face, and small smile radiates from the bride. The rest as they say, well its the start of their new life.

Tatton Park is the perfect perfect venue if you like the idea of a manor house as a beautiful backdrop for your  Asian Wedding. Your photographs will undoubted be memorable.  Photographing in such a unique venue gives me the opportunity to flex those creative nodules and get some stunning shots for your wedding story Book.  Nestled in Cheshire  country side is one of those elegant houses that blend into landscape but stands out as your backdrop. So letting the bride and groom be the stars of the day.

This Muslim wedding will always be one of my most memorable, not only because of the bride and groom. But the weather. It had been snowing for three days before the wedding and it was touch and go.  The night before, frantic calls between me and the couple to plan day and to rework the schedule.  The best way to deal with the British weather is to ignore it and carry on regardless.

The snow did not hamper the day, in fact it added to in bucket loads. The bride did actually get to wear the most comfortable shoes ever… have a look. The snow filled field added to the drama for the wedding portrait  photos and if  I remember clearly the groom made a SnowGroom!

The decor on the day was in keeping with the elegant charm of the house, and very traditional reds.
